Open Question: I need help on how to retrieve the encryption key for my router to get on the internet?

Posted by Elderly Care Expert | Internet Security | Saturday 4 July 2009 6:07 am

When my router was first installed they changed the key to something easier to remember. Well, I forgot what the security key was. I need to hook up a few things to my internet and I can’t find the paper the key was put on and I can’t find it on my computer.

I think there is a way to retrieve my key, by entering an IP address or something like that into my browser. I don’t know the IP Address to connect to my router either.

Maybe if I could manage to connect to my router to see my settings, I could get my password back.

Does anyone know how I can connect to my router or retrieve my security key?

The router is a 2wire (ATT) 2701HG-B

Also, the key that is located on the sticker on the side of the router doesn’t work. As I said the man changed it so that is useless.

I’d really appreciate it if someone could help.
